I purchased this lovely bench in May of this year 2006 that seller stated was treated with linseed oil, which I though was enough given time to protect against sun fading until I could buy some Teak Oil to treat wood. Well, in less than a month I notice that the beautiful honey golden brown on wood surface was fading and continued to do so each day. The bench is parked in my backyard on the west side of my home where it gets the least amount of sunlight each day. This bench was shipped within days of placing order and is very sturdy. But I wish that the seller/maker had stated that the wood needed to be treated right away to avoid fading. Now I have lots of work to do to restore its orginal beauty, I hope.

Item arrived just as pictured. Very easy to assemble. I reccomend using a power drill with the appropriate bit for attaching the screws. Always leave each screw loose until all the screws have been inserted then tighten them all up. The dimensions of the bench and color looks great around my small, round, in-ground jaccuzzi. I bought one first and loved it so I picked up another one. Yard lover dot com has this bench for a little less but charges for the shipping, I did purchase the samll Arboria side table at yard lover for other areas around my pool. Again this company has a VERY nice product for the money. It has been three weeks of sun and rain and I see no fading problems with mine. However I do imagine it will need bi-anual oil applications to keep the color and finish in smooth condition. Did I mention I like this bench;)

We bought two of these benches for our backyard. They are beautiful. Based on other reviews, we bought natural wood tinted Thompson’s water sealer and sealed the benches before putting them outside. The tinted sealer actually made them look even better. Assembly wasn’t bad. I just needed a set of pliers to turn the allen wrench when it got too hard to turn by hand. I did a lot of research before buying these benches. Although they aren’t as nice as teak, they were the least expensive with the best design for the price. And I can’t complain about quality, so I am happy.

This beautiful bench is graceful and well made. You do need strength to
turn the screws, but it is worth the effort!
